To begin with we are going to review the angles possible when you take a photo, and what these signify.

En primer lugar vamos a revisar los posibles ángulos a la hora de hacer una foto, y su significado:

Burning house project

 ¿Qué salvarías de tu casa si se incendiara?
 

La respuesta no es fácil, ¿algo práctico? ¿algo valioso? ¿sentimental? Los objetos que elijas te retratan en cierto sentido y abren la reflexión sobre lo que dicen los objetos de la persona que los posee.

Looking in a different way - Photography

The project consists of looking in a new way at the objects that we have around us.

Go around your house looking for objects - matches, lids, candles, plasters, noodles, rubber bands - normal common objects which we usually don't give much attention to. 

The task consists of looking at them carefully to see if we can do something different with them, maybe we can place them in aesthetic way... 

Can I make something with container lids?

These rubber bands might make me think of bubbles... or equally I can organise them so they look like paw prints. 

What you are attempting is to get a series of objects and to start to play with them, to arrange them in different ways until suddenly something comes up that grabs your attention. 

For example, what could you do with a bunch of matches? 

And if you think of something more ordered? 

It is interesting how they create a sensation of space, in spite of being flat... this reveals to me the possibility of new combinations

If I arrange two matches... one could be the "stick" and the other the "shadow"...

This is a way to play with the matches, I had a good time playing with them (without lighting them), and I took 20 photos of which I selected the previous examples. 

The noodles also presented possibilities... because they are curved, and this creates more options... for example, I could invent an alphabet: 

And write a coded message...

Or I can allow them to escape, they are also fed up of being in this house. 

I hope that all of these photos have made the exercise clear. You can use one type of object, you can mix different objects, arrange them lying down, standing up... the important thing is that you try to find a new life for them. 

It will help you to look at the artworks by Chema Madoz, and Joan Brossa, or to take a look at some examples of surrealist photography. 

At the end you will need to present 3 photos to me of which you are proud.

Mirando de otra manera. Trabajo fotográfico

El proyecto consiste en mirar con otros ojos los objetos que tenemos a nuestro alrededor.

Daos una vuelta por casa buscando objetos... cerillas, tapas, velas, tiritas, fideos, gomas de plástico... son objetos normales y corrientes a los que no solemos prestar mucha atención. Pues el trabajo consiste en mirarlos despacio, a ver si se nos ocurre algo diferente que hacer con ellos, una forma equilibrada de colocarlos...

 

¿Puedo hacer algo con las tapas de los botes?

A mi me estas gomas me podrían recordar a burbujas... o ¿igual puedo organizarlas para que parezcan huellas de perro!

De lo que se trata es de coger una serie de objetos y empezar a jugar con ellos, a colocarlos de diferentes maneras hasta que de repente surja algo que nos llame la atención.

Por ejemplo, ¿qué se puede hacer con un puñado de cerillas?

¿Y si pienso en algo más ordenado?

Es curioso cómo crean una sensación espacial, a pesar de ser planas... pero esto me puede llevar a nuevas combinaciones

Si relaciono dos cerillas... una puede ser el "palito" y otra la "sombra"...

Esta ha sido una forma de jugar con las cerillas, pasé un buen rato jugando con ellas (sin encenderlas), y saqué 20 fotos de las cuales he seleccionado las anteriores.

También me resultaron sugerentes los fideos... es que están curvaditos, y eso da muchas opciones... por ejemplo, puedo inventar un alfabeto:

y escribiros un mensaje codificado...

O puedo dejar que se escapen, ellos también están hartos de estar en casa

Espero que con todas estas fotos haya quedado claro el ejercicio. Podéis utilizar objetos de un solo tipo, mezclarlos, ponerlos tumbados, de pie... lo importante es que intentéis encontrarles una vida nueva.

Igual os sirve mirar la obra de Chema Madoz, o la de Joan Brossa, o echar un vistazo a algunos ejemplos de fotografía surrealista.

Al final me tenéis que presentar 3 fotos de las que os sintáis orgullosxs

Photographing Colours (4ºCD y 4ºE)

We are going to search through our homes focusing only on the colours of different objects. We are going to take photos of: 

• Three yellow objects
• Three red objects
• Three blue objects

When you take the photos you must take them very close up so that the colour takes up the largest part of the photo as possible but the object you are photographing is still recognizable.

Here is an example of 4 photos I took when I searched for yellow things in my house: 

It is important that you try to take interesting photos and in order to do this I suggest that you take a selection of photos of each object, try different angles, from above, from below, from different sides, and then select the ones you like most.

Vamos a recorrer nuestra casa fijándonos únicamente en el color de los objetos, y vamos a realizar

• Tres fotografías de objetos amarillos
• Tres fotografías de objetos rojos
• Tres fotografías de objetos azules

A la hora de hacer las fotos tienes que hacerlas tan cerca como para que salga la mayor cantidad del color posible pero que se reconozca el objeto que estás fotografiando.

Os dejo un ejemplo de 4 fotos realizadas buscando amarillo por mi casa:

Es importante que intentéis que la fotografía os resulte interesante, por lo que os diría que hagáis varias fotos diferentes de cada objeto, que probéis con ángulos diferentes: desde arriba, desde muy abajo, desde varios laterales, y luego seleccionéis las que más os gusten.

Arte definitivo: Trata de explicar cómo la fotografía se convirtió durante y después de la II Guerra Mundial en un instrumento imprescindible para la realización de propaganda. Era vista como un proceso mecánico y por lo tanto fiel y objetivo a lo que acontecía. Cuando la gente se dio cuenta de la forma en cómo reflejaba la realidad, la fotografía dejó de utilizarse a la ligera y se convirtió en un medio de comunicación.
